L-半胱氨酸盐酸盐一水物用作酵母脱落培养基的成分，用于培养酵母。它也被用作强化梭菌鉴别肉汤(DRCM)的一个成分，用于分离梭菌。
 

生化/生理作用

半胱氨酸(Cys)是一种含硫氨基酸，可调节新陈代谢，促进生长、繁殖和免疫。它提供蛋白质中的二硫键并参与硫的转运。半胱氨酸参与作为信号分子的硫化氢的形成过程。Cys残基存在于多种酶的催化位点。
