General description

Daidzein is an isoflavone present in soy.[3] It regulates oxidative stress, angiogenesis, cell growth and apoptosis.[4] Daidzein has antioxidant, antiestrogenic and antiatherogenic properties. It provides protection against osteoporosis.[5]
Application
Daidzein has been used:
• as a control to evaluate fertility in rats[6][7]
• to study its effects on ovarian cancer[8]
• to simulate in vitro antioxidant activity[9]

Biochem/physiol Actions
