Butter Yellow is a food dye widely used in industrial food production and is found to be carcinogenic in nature.[1]

 

Butter Yellow may be used as an analytical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in food products using gel permeation chromatography and liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry.[2]
